The fusion of sportswear and high fashion has become so commonplace that every new fashion season we see a new collaboration across these two echelons of the industry. For sportswear giants like Nike and adidas we see them working with the top fashion houses like Louis Vuitton and Dior (Nike) as well as Gucci and Balenciaga (adidas). With the partnership seemingly still on hold between The Three Stripes and Balenci (though a new collab model has just been revealed), famed Italian house Gucci is continuing its partnership with the German-based label for the Spring/Summer 2023 season.
Revealed to us through official imagery, we see a slew of new footwear models alongside various clothing pieces that continue to merge archival Gucci designs with adidas’ trademark logos. For the footwear, the iconic adidas ZX8000 gets spotted in four colorways with one coming in the OG “Aqua” color scheme while featuring faint hits of Gucci monogram print on the base layer. High-quality suede details take over alongside the typical TPU overlays while even more co-branded details take over the tongue tag and insole. While not as hot as the Samba, the classic Gazelle silhouette continues its Guccification with four new colorways this season. Simple two-tone color blocking with Gucci’s monogram across the upper keeps the models looking classic, yet elevated. Finally, we see slip-on footwear, like a fully transparent pair of Adilette slides, feature co-branded details.
Clothing in capsules spans a variety of silhouettes including hats, shirts, jerseys, dresses, tracksuits, and more. As with the last collection between Gucci and adidas, co-branded logos and iconic details from both brands are present in the designs. Pairing well with the rest of the pieces are the various bags that come with bold in-your-face branding on luxury-quality leather.
The Gucci x adidas Spring/Summer 2023 collection is set to release in, obviously, the Spring/Summer 2023 through adidas Confirmed and Gucci online and in-store. As of now, pricing information is TBA but expect the typical high fashion prices that Gucci fetches for every piece in the collection.
