Born in Chicago and based out of LA, Hebru Brantley has been able to lend his hand to a variety of well-respected brands within the art, fashion, hospitality, and entertainment industries. Though the artist has worked with adidas in the past on a triple collab between himself and Billionaire Boys Club, he’s now getting his first solo project by bringing his Frogboy and Rocket characters to two pairs of adidas Forums, one mid-top and one low-top.
Taking his signature color palette, Brantley dresses the adidas Forum Low in a light blue shade across its leather upper, accented by hints of black, red, and white throughout. The monochromatic blue look takes over the entire toebox, mudguard, vamp, and eyestays, accented by red stitching details on the vamp, yellow hits on the bottommost eyelet, and white laces that work up to the Rocketboy branded tongue tag. Also present on the tongue is a set of two-tone yellow and grey bungee laces, held together by a black lace lock. Along the midfoot, the Three Stripes branding comes in a deep black while the Trefoil nearby takes on a hand-drawn appearance in white. Light blue hits can also be found on the mesh sockliner, complementing the multicolor insole with Frogboy graphics. A blue shaggy suede rests atop the heel overlay with hits of black located nearby. Underfoot, a matching blue midsole is paired with a gum rubber outsole.
Elements from this low-top look appear on the adidas Forum Mid, mainly the accent stitching and multicolor details. On the perforated leather toebox, a tech olive shade is utilized, contrasting the deep black nubuck mudguard. The vamp and eyestays take on a black tumbled leather, housing a set of shock pink laces and a secondary set of bungee laces in a two-tone olive and silver appearance. Just like the low-top, the tongue tag forgoes any adidas branding, instead a caricature of Frogboy is visible. For the Three Stripes branding, the same olive shade found on the toebox is used, continuing the black/olive contrast with nubuck overlays surrounding it. A tri-shaded collar comes in two tones of green and a singular shade of red, finished off by the blue sockliner and heel tab nearby. Rounding out the look is the black midsole paired with a gum rubber outsole.
Both colorways of the Hebru Brantley x adidas Forum Collection are slated to release on July 14th, 2022 through adidas Confirmed and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price for the low-top is set at $130 while the mid-top will be $140.
