This time around, New Balance and Australian sneaker giant Hype DC have taken a deep dive into the scenic landscapes of Australia and New Zealand for the New Balance 2002R Native Dynamics. This release is even more significant as it marks Hype DC's 25th Anniversary. Fans of the New Balance 2002R would also remember its previous Aussie rendezvous with Up There's Backyard Legends and Backyard Legends II, setting expectations high for this exclusive drop.
The upcoming New Balance 2002R Native Dynamics showcases a rich palette inspired by Australian salt lakes and coastlines. The upper is a blend of varying tan shades on the hairy suede, punctuated by a more profound tan on the midfoot. The sneaker's complex layering allows the white mesh to reveal subtle hues of grey and pink underneath. Meanwhile, pink highlights the nubuck toebox overlays, "N" logo on the midfoot, and several other sections. As a nod to Hype DC's silver anniversary, a specially designed lace dubrae bearing the "25" text is a highlight, and the sneaker comes with three lace options to mix and match. The heel is an ensemble of blue suede adorned with a blue patch, reaffirming the 25th-anniversary theme. The design is brought full circle with a tan foam midsole and a tri-colored outsole.
The Hype DC Exclusive New Balance 2002R Native Dynamics will release October 20, 2023, exclusively through Hype DC online and in-store.
