Almost six months into 2022 and Nike is still revealing their 50th Anniversary plans, recently announcing a collaboration with Simon Porte Jacquemus and his eponymous Jacquemus label. As stated in Nike’s press release regarding the collab, “Nike x Jacquemus underscores Nike’s future vision of “50 for Her” during its 50th Anniversary year.”
The collection, which will include footwear, is going to be a minimalistic reinterpretation of athletic women’s sportswear inspired by archival Nike ACG pieces as well as various 90’s campaigns spearheaded by Nike. Jacquemus is quoted in regards to the design of the collaboration, “…we designed women’s athletic wear with sensuous details and neutral colors, along with my own interpretation of the Humara, my favorite Nike shoe.” The goal of this partnership is to provide a way for integrated sportswear designs and style into everyday life as well as redefining summer ready-to-wear outfits, providing comfort anytime and anywhere.
With the announcement so fresh, images of the Nike x Jacquemus collection will surface in the coming weeks as the launch date is scheduled for June 28th, 2022 exclusively on jacquemus.com and then in September through Nike online and in-store.
