Jalen Brunson Returns From Injury Wearing Nike Kobe 5 Protro The Joke’s On You PE

With the Knicks having clinched a position in the 2025 NBA postseason, the team is now prepping to make a push through the East to emerge as potential NBA champions. A big part of their success has come from Jalen Brunson, the star guard who has just returned from a 15-game absence caused by an ankle injury. In his first game back last night, Brunson busted out a new Nike Kobe 5 Protro PE inspired by The Joker.

Brunson’s The Joke’s On You Kobe 5 Protro PE is decidedly different from his Kobe 4 Protro Natty PE. The latter takes inspiration from his alma mater, Villanova, where he won two national championships in 2016 and 2018. Now drawing inspiration from the Batman villain, the Flywire and synthetic upper of the Kobe 5 get coated in a purple hue, accented by pops of volt green on the laces, Kobe sheath logo, Swoosh, and Kobe signature on the heel.

Outlining the Swoosh and lining the interior are hits of burgundy red. A final shade on the upper is present on the tongue tag, collar, and heel overlay, as these panels all come in a deep forest green hue. Underfoot sits a white foam midsole with speckle details on the toe and a volt green rubber outsole.

Jalen Brunson’s Nike Kobe 5 Protro The Joke’s On You PE will not be released publicly. Instead, they’ll remain exclusive to the Knicks superstar, who will hopefully impact the team in the upcoming postseason.
