JJJJound, led by Justin Saunders, has become a pivotal name in sneaker collaborations, especially with its consistently impressive work on various New Balance models. After the remarkable success of the JJJJound x New Balance 2002R, the partnership is set to continue its journey with a new iteration, this time featuring Gore-Tex technology. Following early images of the Gore-Tex 2002R in Pine, sneakerheads can look forward to more from this combination as the JJJJound x New Balance 2002R Gore-Tex has emerged in a sleek Charcoal colorway.
This upcoming version of JJJJound’s take on the New Balance 2002R stands out by incorporating Gore-Tex, adding a weather-resistant layer to its design. The sneaker showcases a harmonious blend of suede, mesh, and leather, all treated with Gore-Tex to offer durability and protection against the elements. The color palette is a sophisticated array of grey tones, with the suede sections adorned in a lighter grey, while the mesh base and the suede "N" logo feature a deeper grey shade. Branding elements include subtle JJJJound accents on the heel and a distinctive lace lock, contributing to the collaborative identity of the sneaker. Underfoot sits a blacked-out midsole and outsole.
The JJJJound x New Balance 2002R Gore-Tex Charcoal will release February 15, 2024, through JJJJound, while a New Balance release will take place on the 22nd. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $190. Stay informed about this release and more in the sneaker and streetwear world by downloading the Sole Retriever mobile app.
