Joe Freshgoods has established himself as one of the leading collaborators in the sneaker industry, particularly with his ongoing partnership with New Balance. Over the past four years, his innovative designs and storytelling ability have produced some of the most sought-after releases. Following the success of his previous collaborations and the recent revival of the New Balance 1000, JFG will tackle the latest 99X model to come forth with the 990v6. Previously, Sole Retriever reported that Joe was working on the 990v6, with that pair taking on a blue appearance opposite this new all-red variant.
Channeling the legendary Red October Air Yeezy II, Joe’s 990v6 features an all-over red design. This sneaker showcases a premium construction with pigskin suede, perforated nubuck, and mesh. Deep red hues envelop the upper, with the suede covering the mudguard, midfoot, and heel. Perforated nubuck is used on the toe and collar, while the mesh base provides breathability and comfort. The iconic N logo on the midfoot also reflects a vibrant red, maintaining the monochromatic theme.
These early images make identifying the branding details specific to Joe Freshgoods difficult. However, it is expected that his signature touches will be present on the heel, insole, and possibly the tongue tag. Underfoot, the sneaker features an all-red foam midsole with FuelCell cushioning, ensuring a comfortable and responsive ride. The look is completed with a matching red rubber outsole, emphasizing the bold aesthetic of this collaboration.
The Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v6 Made in USA Paris Red will release July 27, 2024, exclusively through a Joe Freshgoods' Friend Named Cousin art exhibit at Les Filles du Calvair in Paris, France. An online release is happening now via an EQL raffle on Joe's website, with this ending on August 1.
