Beyond his releases, Pharrell Williams has further pushed the boundaries of fashion with his auction platform, JOOPITER, serving the community with rare finds from his collection and beyond. This time, JOOPITER steps it up a notch, presenting to the sneaker world a golden opportunity to glimpse the past, showcasing samples from Supreme and Nike SB's legendary 2003 partnership on the SB Dunk High.
These rare samples, a deviation from the retail releases, pay tribute to Nike's iconic Be True To Your School (BTTYS) pack, which made waves in 1986. The showcased colorways vividly reflect the Syracuse, UNC, and St. Johns designs. A distinctive touch on these samples is the midfoot panel showcasing the golden Nike text and the signature Swoosh logo. However, this design, unfortunately, didn't make it to the retail shelves due to unforeseen copyright issues, making way for the starry pattern instead. Apart from this, the shoe retains the opulent faux-crocodile skin, gleaming with the golden Nike emblem, perfectly positioned on the tongue and the insole. The sneakers are completed with the familiar white SB Dunk midsole and a tonal outsole, resonating with the secondary hue of each rendition.
The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High Sample auction is set to open on September 26 and concludes on October 3, 2023, exclusively through JOOPITER online. The estimated sales price for all three pairs is between $30,000 and $50,000. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the auction and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
