The Jordan Air Ship, a model steeped in history and the precursor to Michael Jordan's iconic signature sneaker series, continues to make waves in the sneaker world. Before the Air Jordan 1 officially launched MJ's sneaker legacy, the Nike Air Ship was the first shoe he sported on the NBA hardwood in 1984. Interestingly, Jordan's version incorporated tooling from the then-unreleased Air Jordan 1, distinguishing it from the public release. Revived in 2020 under Jordan Brand, the Air Ship has since seen numerous colorways, including an anticipated Rust Pink variant. Now, a new Midnight Navy colorway has emerged.
Retaining the silhouette's classic structure and colorblocking, this Air Ship is designed with a pristine white leather upper, creating a perfect backdrop for the midnight navy accents. These navy touches are strategically placed on the leather Swoosh, collar, and mesh sockliner, offering a sophisticated contrast. An embroidered tongue tag in the same navy hue adds a touch of elegance to the design. White laces seamlessly blend with the tongue, while tonal stitching details across the sneaker ensure a harmonious look. Underneath, the shoe features a white midsole borrowed from the Jordan 1, paired with a durable midnight navy outsole, rounding out the aesthetic.
The Jordan Air Ship PE SP Midnight Navy will release on January 27, 2024, through select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the sneaker will retail at $140.
