Popularized mainly by designs like Ye's (formerly known as Kanye West) Foam RNNR, foam-based slip-ons dominated sneaker culture for years. While these designs may not command the same demands as during the pandemic, Jordan Brand is expanding its offerings in this field with the Jordan Roam.
The Jordan Roam Sail embodies the modern footwear trend, prioritizing comfort without sacrificing style. It features a slide-like design with an open back for ease of wear. Meanwhile, strategically placed perforations on the toe and forefoot enhance breathability and add a visually appealing texture. The design draws inspiration from Jordan Brand's rich motorsport heritage and the iconic Jordan Trunner, evident in the unique perforation patterns and overall silhouette.
One of the standout features of the Jordan Roam is the interior, which incorporates a molded elephant print pattern in the footbed. This mold adds a signature Jordan Brand aesthetic and ensures a secure, comfortable fit while allowing for ample airflow. The footwear is engineered with dual-density foam, offering a perfect blend of soft cushioning and durable support tailored for everyday wear.
The sole unit of the Jordan Roam further enhances its functionality and style. It features pebble-like pods that provide a unique underfoot experience and strategically placed rubberized zones at the forefoot and heel for increased durability and traction.
The Jordan Roam Sail will release in Summer 2024 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $60.
