Jordan Brand took a bold step by introducing the Jordan Spizike in low-top form, which has sparked surprise and excitement among sneaker enthusiasts. A brainchild of the legendary collaboration between Jordan Brand and filmmaker Spike Lee, the Spizike has held cultural significance as one of the few hybrid Jordan models that gained popularity. Following reveals of the Chinese New Year, Football Blue, and Sail, we have first looks at a new rendition in Lightning.
The Jordan Spizike Low Lightning is a vibrant homage to the beloved Air Jordan 4 Lightning and Jordan 5 Tokyo, featuring a color scheme that instantly grabs attention. The sneaker beautifully amalgamates design elements from classic Jordan models, including the Jordan 6, Jordan 4, and Jordan 3. Dominating the upper is the striking lightning yellow hue, which encompasses the elephant print details from the AJ 3 on the mudguard and heel, and the wings from the AJ 4. Inspired by the Jordan 6, the tongue contrasts with its grey shades, complemented by black laces and a Jumpman logo. Like the AJ 5 Tokyo, the midfoot cage and TPU eyestays come in grey.
Distinctively, the sneaker features Spike Lee's signature elements – the portrait of Mars Blackmon and the 40 Acres and a Mule logo, each adorning the circular heel overlays. We see a black and yellow finish on the sole unit, complete with a black speckled effect on the yellow section, an obvious homage to the Jordan 5 Tokyo. The design is concluded with a clear rubber outsole.
The Jordan Spizike Low Lightning will release on May 30, 2024, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest updates on this release and more.
