Zion Williamson’s absence from play in his second year hasn’t stopped Jordan Brand from releasing the second signature model of the young NBA player’s signature line. The shoe features sharp, angular geometric cuts with pockets of mesh on the upper. The massive heel counter flows from the back of the ankle collar, down into the midsole, giving the sneaker a sturdy and rigid appearance. The various pods on the outsole feature massive outriggers, a feature found in the first Zion signature sneaker, the Jordan Zion 1, as an added measure of stability to keep Zion’s massive frame from rolling over the footbed of the sneakers.
What’s most exciting is the potential cushioning technology in the Jordan Zion 2. The forefoot strap reads “Zoom Air” on the tab, signifying to us that Nike’s crown jewel air cushioning tech will be featured in some way within the sneaker’s midsole. The Zion 1 featured a full-length Zoom Air Strobel unit in the forefoot, which sat right underneath the insole of the sneaker for accentuated responsiveness. This could only mean similar technology to be featured in the Zion 2.
The Jordan Zion 2 Voodoo is set to release on June 22nd, 2022. It will drop at Nike as well as select Nike and Jordan Brand retailers worldwide, in-store and online. Retail is set at $140 for men’s sizes. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
