Kanye West Previews New Yeezy BL-01 Bully Shoe
PublishedA day after Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, surprise dropped his second-ever independent footwear product, the Yeezy SLPR (or SL-01), since being dropped by adidas in 2022, he’s continued his social media posting spree. Outside of sharing the R&D of the SLPR, hyping himself up by calling himself the GOAT of all GOATS, and disparaging other brands, Ye has been sharing sales figures from the SLPR drop, which helped yeezy.com sell over $2.4 million worth of products in 24 hours. Now, it appears there will be an actual sneaker from Ye and Yeezy as he shared an in-hand video of the Yeezy BL-01 Bully
The bulky, bulbous look of the shoe draws some comparisons to the sampled-but-unreleased adidas Yeezy 700 V4, with its internal neoprene bootie tongue looking quite similar to the padded tongue found on the laceless 700 MNVN. Like the aforementioned shoe, this pair comes without laces, a common feature of Ye’s independent footwear releases, including the SLPR and Yeezy Pods. The model comes with a canvas on the toe and midfoot for its base, surrounded by large and organic-like overlays near the eyelets.
Outside of the in-house comparisons to other Yeezy shoes, it looks like the oversized boots done by PDF Channel. The brand and its footwear have become popular amongst those in the hip-hop community, most famously seen on Drake's feet in the summer of 2023. Unlike the comically large appearance of the PDF Channel boots, these are toned down a bit. As for cushioning, a midsole is covered by a large rubber panel that wraps from the heel down to the toe, where a second layer of this rubber is applied. Of course, as has become custom on many Yeezy designs, the outsole features a grooved finish.
As of this writing, there is no confirmed release information regarding the Yeezy BL-01 Bully. However, we may see a pre-order or release on yeezy.com in the coming months to coincide with the release of his new album, Bully.
