In 2022, Kiki Rice made history as the first athlete to sign an NIL deal with Jordan Brand, doing so at just 18 years old and in the lead-up to her debut for the UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team. Two-and-a-half years later, Rice made an impact not only for the Bruins squad but also for Jordan Brand as she helped inform the design of the all-new Jordan Heir silhouette. Ahead of the Bruins’ game against the Maryland Terrapins over the weekend, Rice debuted a PE colorway of the Jordan Heir.

Inspired by her love for the ocean and her time at UCLA, the sneaker features an ombre-like effect that transitions from a deep royal blue near the toe to a light sky blue-esque shade as you move back from the toe. Pops of yellow, honoring the UCLA Bruins, are found on the Jumpman-laden lace loops on the vamp and the logos atop the tongue. The left pair features a logo for Jordan Heir, and the right hosts a Jumpman logo.

Deep Royal Blue laces contrast the sky blue of the perforated mesh tongue, and this shade is also applied to the Kiki-branded pull tabs on the heel. Final details on the upper include more blue hues on the TPU cage reinforcing the sneaker and a yellow Jumpman logo on the lateral heel. Down below, the semi-translucent outsole takes inspiration from sand with its speckled yellow finish.

Unfortunately for fans of Rice and the UCLA Bruins, this Jordan Heir PE will remain exclusive to Kiki. However, if her upward trajectory continues, expect to see Jordan Brand drop a Kiki Rice-designed sneaker in the future.
