Kyrie Irving In Talks To Sign Footwear Deal With Sia Collective
PublishedKyrie Irving may have had one of the most successful performance basketball silhouettes for Nike Basketball, however, even this couldn’t stop The Swoosh from dropping the Brooklyn Nets star player after a string of controversies in the previous months. Even before this, rumors floated that Nike and Irving would part ways once the contract between the two ended in 2023 as the relationship deteriorated in the last few years. Well, following speculation on where Kyrie would end up it appears he and his team are in talks with the black-owned footwear label Sia Collective as reported by blackmillionaires_ on Instagram.
Founded by Delvin Carter, Sia Collective (Sia stands for Somewhere In America) has grown his business into a multi-million dollar independent footwear and streetwear brand that currently is sitting around 400k followers on IG (though Carter says he prefers to call them his “supporters”). The brand's most popular silhouette, the Culture Vulture, consistently sold out during weekly Saturday drops with the lineup now expanding to include various foam sneakers, traditional leather and suede construction, and neoprene booties. With a die-hard following who believes in his messages, story, and open-mindedness, possibly bringing Kyrie Irving to the label for performance footwear will not only boost the brand but allow Kyrie to contribute to a smaller black-owned brand as opposed to a multi-billion dollar faceless brand.
As of now, Kyrie Irving and Sia Collective are still in talks to sign a deal so we’ll have to wait and see what comes of this. As of now, Sia has been the only brand Kyrie has been in talks with (publicly), so keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on further developments regarding Kyrie's future in footwear and the latest release, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
