adidas has partnered with London-based institution Liberty to launch an all-new floral-inspired collection for the new year. With five different models featured, including the Gazelle Bold, Country OG, Campus 00s, Stan Smith, and Gazelle, some of the most classic silhouettes in the German sportswear brand's roster receive a makeover. The Country OG and Gazelle Bold are exclusively for women, with the other three pairs available in various sizes for smaller humans.
Liberty was founded in 1875 and will celebrate 150 years in business in 2025. Its brick-and-mortar location on Great Marlborough Street in the West End of the English capital city has stood for a century. Known for their floral designs, Liberty has collaborated with Nike, Vans, Dr. Martens, and J.Crew, amongst others, in recent years. Their first time linking up with The Brand With The Three Stripes is now.
First up is the Gazelle Bold, with its distinctive triple-soled aesthetic. The majority of the upper is dominated by a woven canvas featuring a vibrant design of red, green, blue, pink, white, and yellow flowers against a black background. The black hues continue to the suede heel tab, eye stay, toe box, and Three Stripes branding, while it also envelopes the traditional dimpled tongue. The tongue is finished with a gold foil decal, and three gum-colored rubber outsoles underfoot complete the look.
Next is the Country OG, presented in a similar construction to the Gazelle Bold. Black suede overlays appear at the toe area, Three Stripes branding, eye stay, and heel, with a padded tongue finished with a gold foil graphic. The same floral pattern caresses the upper, while underfoot dual EVA cushioning makes way to a gum-colored rubber outsole.
A Campus 00s joins the collection, and the upper is adorned in a much more muted floral design, with the pinks, yellows, blues, and greens blended wonderfully across the shoe. Black Three Stripes contrast at the midfoot, and the color hits the heel tab, complete with Trefoil branding, which is also on the tongue. Underfoot, a thick white midsole is joined by a gum-colored rubber outsole.
That muted pattern is also featured on the Gazelle, which highlights a much more vivid contrast as lilac purple hues are used for the padded tongue and suede eye stay and toe box. The Three Stripes branding and heel tab are black leather, with Trefoil logos on the tongue and heel. A gum-colored rubber sole completes the aesthetic.
Last but not least, a Stan Smith that is entirely made from the floral design sans the lilac suede overlay at the heel. A white tongue graphic stands prominent, with the Stan Smith moniker subtly embroidered at the midfoot. A white rubber outsole finishes the look.
