It looks like it's going to be a pretty big year for the Shox silhouette. At the end of December, Sole Retriever reported that the iconic Shox TL will be making a comeback in two monochromatic colorways. Now, Martine Rose has taken to the runways of Pitti Immagine's Fall/Winter 2023 show to tease her third Shox release, the Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4 "Scuba Blue." Unveiled less than six months after her first collection, make sure you read on to find out everything that we know so far.
Inspired by vintage goalkeeper jerseys, the London-based fashion designer's latest Shox is painted in a unique gradient effect that fades from blue to purple. Featuring a unique mule-like shape, it works on top of a breathable mesh base and is overlaid by panels of leather throughout. A Swoosh is finely embroidered across the lateral and medial sidewalls, while the heel is reinforced with four columns for that unmistakable Shox look and feel. To round it all off, Martine Rose's name is encased within a clear plastic tongue tab, and finely printed across the insoles, finalizing the one-of-a-kind, soccer-influenced design.
While the Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4 Scuba Blue W certainly isn't made for everyone, it's still worth the hype. Expected to release in Fall 2023, it will drop exclusively in women's sizes with a retail price of $200.
