Matthew M Williams is taking the mule to another level, taking a maximalist approach to the design. Layers of columns and angles with clouds of perforations throughout the shoe are a clear departure from the simple designs we’ve seen on most other single-piece foam clogs.
The shoe has debossed co-branding down the middle with a familiar shape, as it embodies the mule clog look that has dominated 2022, with a sharp cut squaring off the toe-box. The Nike Zoom MMW5 features tons of perforation throughout the upper and the footbed of the shoe as well. When you look at the shoe from the lateral or medial side, however, is when things start to get wild. The chunky midsole and outsole is a complex structure of foam columns with an outsole that is decoupled from the upper of the shoe. The blacked outsole gives the shoe a solid foundation to stand on, while the slight sheen of the matted upper elevates the look of this colorway.
The release date of the Matthew M Williams x Nike Zoom MMW 5 Black is rumored to release early on Alyx Studios website on September 9th, 2022 while a wider release through Nike and select retailers worldwide is set for September 23rd. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $190. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
