The sneaker game is certainly no stranger to manga-inspired colorways and collaborations. After checking out the One Piece x Vans Authentic, Urusei Yatsura x Onitsuka Tiger Delecity, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! x adidas ADI2000 all within the past couple of months, we're now taking our very first look at the Naruto x Air Jordan 37 "Zion." A rare three-way collaboration between the Masashi Kishimoto franchise, Jordan Brand, and Zion Williamson, if you're a fan of the legendary Japanese series then this definitely deserves a spot in your collection.
It's a very well-known fact that the New Orleans Pelicans power forward is a massive fan of anime, with Naruto being his favorite one of them all. Inspired by the titular character, Uzumaki Naruto, this Air Jordan 37 is painted in a vibrant laser blue hue which pays homage to his signature move, the Rasengan. A power that he begins to learn about in episode 86 of the anime and chapter 167 of the manga, this ball of chakra influences the silhouette's bold Lenoweave upper, synthetic lacing system, and leather mudguards. Claw marks scratch their way towards the collar area as a nod to Naruto's Nine-Tailed Demon Fox alter ego, while metallic silver tongue tags pay homage to the headbands used throughout the franchise. The fabric tongues are dipped in yellow strike, and all of this sits on top of a chunky Air midsole that's encased within a comfortable Formula 23 midsole, making it ideal for both basketball players and ninjas alike.
