Over the years, New Balance has consistently impressed with its innovative approaches to classic designs, thanks in part to the contributions of its Tokyo Design Studio. This design hub, based in the heart of Tokyo, has garnered admiration for taking New Balance's iconic sneakers and offering a fresh twist to them. In light of the recent revival of the New Balance 610 - a trail-blazing outdoor silhouette - the Tokyo Design Studio has been tasked with infusing its essence into the design, and the result is nothing short of captivating. Already spotted in a Cream Blue colorway and a collaborative rendition with CDG, a new Brown iteration has appeared.
The New Balance 610 Tokyo Design Studio in Brown boasts a laceless, low-top slip-on design, showcasing a masterful blend of nubuck, mesh, suede, and neoprene. Dominated by earthly hues, the sneaker's construction evokes a rugged elegance. The luxurious brown suede drapes the forefoot and midfoot, with the iconic "N" logo pronounced in the center. The "610" branding near the lateral collar, against the backdrop of the plush neoprene, provides a subtle nod to its heritage. Detailed stitching on the toe cap and a functional heel pull tab further accentuate its trail-inspired aesthetic. Inside, the insole hosts New Balance and Tokyo Design Studio co-branding, while the dependable New Balance 610 sole unit provides the finishing touch.
The New Balance 610 Tokyo Design Studio Brown will release November 17, 2023 through New Balance and select retailers both online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
