While New Balance has established itself in the NBA with multiple performance models and a signature sneaker line from Kawhi Leonard, the brand is now stepping into football. With recent signings of players like Chase Young and Marvin Harrison Jr., New Balance is ready to launch its first football cleats. Set to debut in June 2024, the New Balance Fortress and Prodigy cleats mark a significant milestone for the brand.
The Fortress cleat is designed for intense battles on the gridiron, featuring a mid-cut silhouette that offers superior support and stability. The cleat boasts a FantomFit upper, providing lightweight bonded support with a multi-layer construction for strategic zonal support. The launch colorway, Black Gold, exudes a regal appearance with the N logo in striking metallic gold and most of the cleat in sleek black. A FuelCell-cushioned sockliner underfoot ensures comfort, while the dual-injection nylon and TPU plate provide the necessary support and agility. The cleated outsole in gold completes the design, making it functional and visually appealing.
On the other hand, the Prodigy model is tailored for skill position players and comes in a low-top form. Its debut colorway, White Gold, features a FantomFit upper, ensuring lightweight support and durability. Like the Fortress, the Prodigy cleat also includes a FuelCell sockliner for optimal comfort and the dual-injection nylon and TPU plate for enhanced performance on the field. This combination ensures players can move swiftly and with agility, making it a perfect choice for those in key positions.
The New Balance Fortress and New Balance Prodigy Cleats will debut on June 26, 2024, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $185. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
