New Balance has had an undeniable run in the lifestyle space over the past few years. However, it’s hard to mention the brand without thinking of its running DNA, too. The FuelCell family produced some of the best contemporary running shoes, and New Balance has another hit on its hands with the FuelCell SuperComp Trainer v2. Now, the model arrives in black with some choice detailing
Unlike New Balance’s lifestyle silhouettes, the upper on the SuperComp Trainer V2 is entirely constructed from mesh and resin. Stark black stretches across the mesh back to the supportive heel built with dense foam. Subtle grey resin dots help form a tiger stripe pattern, and further contrast comes from the white "N" logo outline. Chunky, double-layered FuelCell cushioning in sail sandwiches an arched carbon fiber plate. "Thirty Watt" volt is sprayed beneath the FuelCell branding at the midfoot's lateral heel. On the medial side, "New Balance" text sits in a crisp white. Energy Arc branding stamped on the carbon fiber plate pokes out from the middle of the black outsole, rounding out the details on this pair.
The New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Trainer V2 Black is out now through New Balance and select retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is $180.
