New Balance’s foray into performance basketball has been quite successful. While there’s still room to grow with their roster of basketball talent, which includes the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray, and Cooper Flagg, their inline performance basketball sneakers have been received well amongst the community. The brand recently introduced the updated Hesi Low v2, launching the model in August. A month later, NB has brought forth a colorway inspired by the iconic video game NBA Street Vol. 2.
Hues of blue oasis land across most of this new Hesi Low v2, landing on the mesh, TPU, and synthetic leather. Moving along to the midfoot, we see a large N logo in an 8-bit-like pattern applied in a lighter blue shade, contrasting the dark blue hues of the TPU eyelet and the tongue's top. New Balance Hesi branding is placed on this dark blue tongue, which comes lined in a purple shade, while the sneaker's interior goes toward the darker blue hue. Stability is added via the TPU heel counter, transitioning from a volt hue on the lateral side to a deep purple on the medial. Final details on the upper include the volt green N logo on the midfoot and the volt lace loop on the tongue. Underfoot sits a blue foam midsole with volt green dotting the forefoot and a dark blue and purple outsole encapsulating the full-length FuelCell midsole.
