Skater Niels Bennett teams up with adidas for the first time to present a collaborative take on the Pro Shell ADV. A favorite of those who populate skateparks around the globe, the silhouette has been worked on before by another skater, Palace Skateboards' own Heitor Da Silva. Now it's time for Bennett to shine on the Pro Shell ADV this holiday season.
Originally from Florida, Niels gained recognition through his technical skills and ability to adapt to various skate spots, whether in urban environments or skateparks. His laid-back personality and dedication to progression have made him a favorite among fans and fellow skaters. Bennett is also known for being featured in skate videos, including sections that showcase his unique approach to tricks and lines.
With its swirling brown hues, the travertine stone-rich architecture of Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, Germany, inspired the earth-toned palette for Bennetts' first signature colorway. This idea came about because the skater currently resides in the German city. The accompanying tagline from adidas, a nod to the past with a focus on the future, also hints that Bennetts's riding for Chocolate Skateboards partly inspired the rich hues.
The Niels Bennett x adidas Pro Shell ADV upper is constructed from premium nubuck. The quality is outstanding, and the color alternates between brown and dark brown. Branding is seen via the Three Stripes branding along the midfoot and the Trefoil logo on the woven tongue tag and back heel tabs.
The iconic ankle strap carries Bennett in a subtle debossed design. A rubber toe cap completes the front of the shoe, lovingly known as the "shelltoe." Underfoot, the color-matched rubber sole is designated ADV, providing a more durable grip.
The Niels Bennett x adidas Pro Shell ADV Brown was released on November 21, 2024, and is available now via adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is $120.
