Founding BAPE and bringing the brand to the forefront of hip-hop culture to now working for Kenzo, streetwear legend NIGO has left his mark on the industry since entering the scene in the 90s. Arguably one of the best collaborators in the fashion world, we’ve seen NIGO and his brand’s team up with just about every IP and brand on the planet. Although he has worked with Levi’s, the famous American denim maker, through Human Made, NIGO will be teaming up with the brand in 2023.
Teased with a short video on Levi’s Instagram page, details regarding the two-piece collection were revealed shortly after. Comprised of the Hickory Stripe 501 jeans and a 557XX Hickory Stripe Trucker Jacket, NIGO dug into the archives to help celebrate the birthday of the iconic 501 jeans. Both pieces are constructed in Japan out of 13oz Hickory Stripe selvedge denim. Classic Levi's branding remains in its usual spot, though a custom NIGO x Levi's 150th anniversary tote bag and co-branded hangtag will be included with each item. This marks another partnership under Levi’s belt in 2023, previously tapping Stussy last month, that celebrates the 150th birthday of Levi’s 501 pants.
The NIGO x Levi’s Collection will be released on April 6th, 2023 through Levi’s and HUMAN MADE online and in-store. As of this writing, the retail pricing for the pieces is currently TBA.
