Streetwear aficionados know Nigo as the pioneering mind behind A Bathing Ape (BAPE) and Human Made, blending the lines between hip-hop, fashion, and sneaker culture. For nearly 20 years, even after transitioning from BAPE to Human Made, the streetwear legend worked with adidas regarding footwear collaborations. All of this has changed as Brendan Dunne of Complex reported that Nigo signed with Nike and has ended his partnership with adidas. Since this news broke, sneakerheads have been on high alert.
Recently, Steven Victor recorded Nigo in a pair of the Nike Air Force 3 Escape, fueling speculation about a potential new collaboration with Nike. And according to Complex, this Air Force 3 Low is just one of several colorways we’re getting from the partnership.
Sharing a striking resemblance to the coveted 2005 Air Force 3 Escape, this pair adopts a low-top profile, an iteration not previously seen in the Escape lineup. While the brief video glimpse offered limited details, the visible segments of the shoe suggest a true-to-original design on the upper, with an intriguing white-dominated heel. This Escape colorway was one of the OG pairs from 1988 and has only ever been reissued one time in 2005.
Nigo’s upcoming Nike Air Force 3 collaboration is tentatively set to release in 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. While details, including sizing and retail pricing, are currently under wraps, we should hear more as we enter the new year.
