Nike has its hand in just about every aspect of fashion, obviously focusing on sneakers but creating stellar apparel and accessories that push the boundaries of designs. In the past, we've seen this with accessories like the viral and banned Nike MaxSight contact lenses from 2005. For 2024, Nike has taken an avant-garde approach to its sunglasses design that will be launched as part of the brand's comprehensive Olympic Collection with the Zeus and Athena sunglasses.
The Athena sunglasses feature a polarized lens with a striking design that turns heads. Unlike the more sporty, smaller lens on the left, the right lens is much larger and shaped in a circular pattern. The edge of the lenses comes with a safari print that has been seen on multiple Olympic-themed sneakers, including the Dunk Low, GT Cut 3, and Alphafly 3.
For the Zeus shades, which retail for $450, Nike has embraced a moth-like design. The sunglasses feature a wire-frame running along the edges of the polarized and iridescent lenses. The bridge sports perforations and an avant-garde shape reminiscent of the Oakley Overthetop shades from the 2000 Olympics vibe.
The Nike Zeus sunglasses blend futuristic design and high-performance functionality, making them stand out in the 2024 Olympic Collection. With their bold aesthetic and innovative features, these shades are poised to be a favorite among athletes and fashion-forward individuals.
The Nike Zeus and Athena sunglasses are set to launch on July 24, 2024, via Nike online. The Zeus pair will retail for $450, while the Athena is $248.
