Nike Basketball has lots of silhouettes in its archives over in Beaverton. The Nike Air Flight 89, set to celebrate its 35th Anniversary in 2024, is one of those models. A few colorways have popped up, including Chicago, Stormtrooper, and a collab with Stussy on three low-top iterations. The list goes on and on. Next, Nike is taking a subtle approach with the Air Flight 89 Black Noise Aqua.
The Nike Air Flight 89 Black Noise Aqua's upper is all-black, mostly in nubuck, accented by smooth leather. The highlights, though, are easily the light smoke grey found on the piping, plastic eyelets, and Air branding on the tongue. But we must remember the star of the show, noise aqua. This bright shade of blue can be seen via the Swoosh on the sides, the Flight script embroidered on the tongue, and the Nike Air branding on the back heel and insoles. The midsole, borrowed from the Air Jordan 4, comes in black and white, with visible Air cushioning in the heel. A black and grey solid rubber outsole finishes things off.
The Nike Air Flight 89 Black Noise Aqua will release in Spring 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
