Designed legends Tinker Hatfield and Eric Avar, the Nike Air Flight Huarache took the basketball world by storm in 1992, one year after the Air Huarache Runner made its debut. It was worn on-court by Chris Webber and the rest of the University of Michigan's Fab Five during their historic freshman year run. A decade later, it was popularized once again by Kobe Bryant, who received a few player exclusive colorways as well. Now, thirty years after its initial release, the Nike Air Flight Huarache has seen numerous re-releases, with the next comeback set for June.
Kicking things off for what might be the revitalization of the classic basketball silhouette is the original white, varsity purple, royal blue, and menta colorway. Staying true to the OG, this pair features a white-based leather upper. The neoprene bootie is dressed in royal blue and purple, with additional purple hits found on the translucent piece of the plastic heel, as well as the branding on the insoles. The classic Huarache logo is found via the tongue tag, with black detailing via the nubuck cut-out collar and plastic heel cage. Air cushioning housed inside the white sole finishes things off.
The Nike Air Flight Huarache OG will release on June 7. It will drop at Nike, via the SNKRS app, and at select retailers worldwide, both online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $125. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
