One of the most legendary and sought-after sneakers in history, the Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy caused chaos during its release in February 2012. Coming to us as a part of Nike Basketball’s Galaxy Pack, the Foamposite is still the most memorable aspect of this All-Star Weekend release. At the time, stories of people trading cars for the pair and fights breaking out at malls made the sneaker even more infamous in the eyes of both sneakerheads and the general public. Even Rajon Rondo wore the Galaxys during the 2012 All-Star Game in Orlando.
Over a decade later, the sneaker was rumored to come back in its OG form in Spring 2024, according to zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files. Unfortunately, this rumor was a bit premature. The good news is that the Galaxy Foamposite will finally return for Spring 2025. As with the initial 2012 release, 2025's rendition of the Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy will be released to coincide with the NBA All-Star Game, which will be held in San Francisco.
The Galaxy Foam is expected to be true to the original, It will sport a mix of obsidian, anthracite, and black, and a unique galaxy graphic depicting the pattern of stars, planets, and vast clouds across its Foamposite upper. Like the OG, it will have its signature Zoom Air cushioning and a glow-in-the-dark rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Foamposite One Galaxy (2025) is expected to release in February 2025 via Nike, SNKRS, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, it will retail for $240, which is a modest $20 increase from original pair that released in 2012.
