Nike is no stranger to iconic sneaker designs, and the Air Force 1 holds a special place in that legacy. Initially launched in 1982, this timeless silhouette has had countless renditions and redesigns, with one of the latest incorporating Nike’s Flyease technology. While the model was launched and marketed as a “Flyease” sneaker (the insole and inside tongue tag still host the branding for this hands-free technology), Nike now calls the technology in the AF1 “EasyOn” due to it featuring a different version of the hands-free tech. With this rename underway, a new women’s exclusive colorway has appeared in “Rugged Orange.”
The upper of this AF1 is constructed with crisp white leather, serving as a pristine canvas that contrasts beautifully with the rugged orange accents. These warm, vibrant hits of orange are artfully placed on the Swoosh, heel tab, and Nike branding atop the tongue, adding a lively flair to the shoe. Apart from its attractive colorway, what sets this Air Force 1 apart is the EasyOn functionality embedded into the heel. Unlike most AF1s, where the heel counter is rigid, this version is designed to stretch when a foot is inserted into the throat of the sneaker. This allows the wearer to slip the shoe on effortlessly. The sneaker features a clean, all-white rubber midsole and outsole, maintaining the classic aesthetics we've come to expect from Air Force 1s.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low EasyOn Rugged Orange W will release Holiday 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $115.
