In 1982, Michael Jordan famously led the University of North Carolina towards victory when he scored The Shot against Georgetown University at the NCAA Finals. This helped propel His Airness' basketball career into superstardom, and as an act of gratitude, he has been releasing Georgetown-inspired sneakers since. From the Air Jordan 1 all the way to the Air Jordan 6, the Hoyas color scheme has also made its way to the Dunk Low in the past, and now, it has taken over the Air Force 1 with the aptly-named Nike Air Force 1 Low "Georgetown." Painted in the establishment's official colors, here's everything that you need to know.
Working on top of a summit white tumbled leather base, light smoke grey suede wraps around the ankle, toebox, and lacing system, while midnight navy hits the Swooshes and back, perfectly representing the Hoyas team colors. "Nike" is written on the tongue tag and heel badge in a varsity-inspired font, nodding back to NCAA days. This all sits on top of an Air-infused midsole that's as comfortable as it gets, finalizing the simple yet sophisticated design.
Releasing sometime in 2022, the Nike Air Force 1 Low Georgetown will be available in men's sizes at Nike and select online and in-store retailers very soon.
