The Bruce Kilgore-designed Nike Air Force 1 has stood the test of time, being a mainstay within the fashion world since its original inception 40 years back. While we have seen Nike celebrate with their Louis Vuitton collection and classic colorways making a comeback, The Swoosh has recently been looking to the City of Angels for inspiration on colorways for the low-top titan. Instead of heading to the flea market, the latest Nike Air Force 1 Low is covered in patches paying homage to Los Angeles.
Dressed in canvas across the upper, the silhouette is covered in a shade of blue reminiscent of UCLA or the LA Dodgers, though the patches throughout provide some depth. The aforementioned patches come in various shapes, sizes, and colors, many of which are different forms of Nike branding, though a few directly nod to California and the City of LA. Running up the eyestays is a set of white cotton laces, sitting below the Nike Air “Anniversary” tongue tag. Along the midfoot, and partially covered by patches, is a corduroy Nike Swoosh in a slightly lighter shade of blue compared to the rest of the sneaker. For the sockliner and insole, a white-on-white combo is present, breaking up the all-over blue look. Rounding everything out is yet another white-on-white combo, this time with the classic AF1 midsole and outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium Los Angeles is slated to release in September 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
