Over the past few months, Nike has been celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the legendary Air Force 1. Designed by Bruce Kilgore back in 1982, the silhouette has since become one of the most iconic basketball sneakers of all time. As the birthday celebrations come to a close, the Beaverton brand is ending it all with a bang with the freshly-revealed Nike Air Force 1 Low Unity "40th Anniversary." Part of the Unity line which also features the "Beef & Broccoli," "Sail," and "White Racer Blue," let's take our first look yet.
As clean as it gets, this Air Force 1 works on top of a breathable mesh base and is overlaid by smooth white leather panels throughout. A shiny metallic silver Swoosh shoots through the lateral and medial sidewalls for a look that is sure to turn heads wherever you go, and of course, you can't talk about this AF1 without mentioning the fully redesigned midsole underfoot. With five subtle indents around the heel for a rugged vibe, the classic "Air" branding has also been shifted forward. This is then lined with a light gray rubber outsole and decorated with hundreds of tiny stars, finalizing the simple yet striking look and feel.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Unity 40th Anniversary releases in December 2022 in men's sizes via Nike, the SNKRS app, and select online and in-store retailers worldwide. Retail is set at $130 and it's expected to be quite limited.
