With over 40 years under its belt, the Nike Air Force 1 continues to be a perennial sneaker in the line of The Swoosh as it continually is getting dressed up in various makeovers. While we’ve seen a variety of colorways honoring the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, there are plenty of standard releases in the pipeline. Seemingly appearing like a typical AF1 Low with university gold accents, the Nike Air Force 1 Low gets a “Waterproof” makeover.
Taking on the typical white leather build we’ve come to know and love from the Bruce Kilgore-designed model, the silhouette takes on small hits of university gold throughout its branding details. These land on the vamp with a mini embroidered Swoosh, along the tongue with the AF1-branded tongue tag, and via the Swoosh and heel tab’s embroidery. As for the rest of the model, various panels come in a white leather finish, however, Nike applies a waterproof material that helps keep your feet dry when encountering wet conditions. As of now, the exact method of making the sneaker waterproof is unknown, though it does not include Gore-Tex as we see no visible branding marking it as such. Rounding out the look is the white AF1 midsole with university gold accenting on the “AIR” text near the heel paired with a gum rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Waterproof is set to release in 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
