Footwear brands across the industry prepare complete footwear and apparel collections to celebrate the Chinese New Year, often drawing inspiration from that year’s zodiac animal. With 2025 being the Year of the Snake, we can expect plenty of snake-themed releases from Nike, which has already confirmed the release of a pack of Jordan sneakers. Now, adding to Nike’s catalog, the Air Force 1 Low has been given a Year of the Snake makeover.
Coming coated in a cream hue across its leather base, we see accenting jade green, red, and gold hits throughout. Smooth leather details hit the mudguard, toe, and midfoot, while a snake pattern embossed into the heel leather panel. For the Swoosh, we see a jade green finish that extends to the heel tab, with the tail end of the logo getting an added red snake embroidery. More nods to the Year of the Snake are found on the tongue tag, which comes in a red snakeskin finish and features gold Nike Air branding on the front and Chinese symbols on the reverse. Another gold detail is found nearby on the lace dubrae. Also included is a rope knotted to look like a flower, a standard Chinese knot for good luck. Underfoot sits a tonal rubber midsole and outsole.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Year of the Snake will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. At this time, it’s unconfirmed if the pair will remain exclusive to the Asian market, or see a global release.
