Earlier this year, the Beaverton-based sportswear giant paid homage to the Japanese art of wabi-sabi with a special edition Air Max 1. An ancient Japanese art that is centered around accepting the beauty of imperfection, it has been practized through flower arrangement, poetry, pottery, and tea ceremonies. Now, it looks like Nike will be channeling this traditional aesthetic once again, this time with the freshly-announced Nike Air Force 1 LV8 EMB "Summit White Blue Whisper."
Working on top of a summit white canvas, light football grey suede wraps around the rest of the upper for a premium look and feel. Underfoot, the Air midsole has been done up in an inky blue whisper finish which is unique to every single pair. That means that no two AF1s in this colorway will look exactly the same. Of course, you can't talk about this sneaker without mentioning the crisp white Swoosh that features a one-of-a-kind cracked texture that's influenced by wabi-sabi.
Releasing in February 2023 in men's sizes the Nike Air Force 1 LV8 EMB Summit White Blue Whisper will drop at Nike, the SNKRS app, and select online and in-store retailers worldwide with a retail price of $130.
