2022 has been a huge year for brands to introduce eco-friendly products, especially in the sneaker and fashion world. For Nike, new silhouettes like the Nike ISPA Link have begun to fulfill their promise of future footwear being fully recyclable, though their most popular silhouettes are often retro kicks. One such model is the Nike Air Huarache, which has appeared multiple times with Crater Foam replacing the standard midsole, now popping up in a Cargo Khaki colorway.
Forgoing the usual neoprene across the upper, the silhouette swaps it for a woven checkerboard pattern in a light khaki shade, complemented by olive green leather on the toe and midfoot. Running up the neoprene tongue is a tonal set of khaki laces that reach the recycled plastic Air Huarache tongue logo. Nearby, the olive green overlay that makes up the eyestays runs back towards the heel and its two-tone black and recycled Nike Grind overlay. Internally, the sock-like neoprene bootie comes in a two-tone olive green and sesame with a contrasting insole coming in volt green with a pinwheel Nike Swoosh graphic. Underfoot, a khaki Crater Foam midsole is paired with a semi-translucent Nike Grind rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Huarache Crater Woven Cargo Khaki is slated to release in August 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
