The Nike Air Huarache has been a staple in Nike’s product offering since it was released in 1991. Just this year, it's been given an update as the Nike Air Huarache Runner. Taking many cues from the original Huarache, the updated version is seen here in a fresh summit white and metallic silver makeup.
Nike walks a fine line with this updated model, retaining much of the DNA found on the original but with some lifestyle updates. Airy white mesh replaces the neoprene sockliner, but the scuba suit material remains on the tongue in a matching tone. Atop the mesh upper are jutting pebbled leather overlays in a summit white, focused mostly at midfoot but with reflective details near the toe and heel. Stacked up even further are the eyestay, toebox, and mudguard in silver suede. More new details appear in the form of a small stitched Swoosh at the midfoot mesh opening, a perforated silver leather wrapping around the heel, and an updated cage in white. The classic huarache midsole remains in summit white, and a two-tone silver and white outsole cap off the design.
The Nike Air Huarache Runner Summit White Metallic Silver will release July 20 via Nike and select retailers, online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set to be $140.
