Originally released way back in 1987, the Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Max 1 was a marvel of technology in the sneaker industry with the first visible Air unit in a Nike sneaker. In honor of the iconic model’s 35th anniversary in 2022, Nike has plenty of colorways to serve us this year, including an Air Max Day special.
Seen here in official mock-ups, are six colorways and two upcoming collaborations of the Air Max 1 sneaker that are scheduled to drop this year with unique themes. Planned releases on Air Max Day and later throughout the summer/fall, there's a colorway for everyone's style. As part of Nike’s push for more women’s exclusives, a white and yellow pair is scheduled. Two earth-toned pairs are also a part of this collection.
Additionally, the "Air Max Day" release comes in a silver, grey, and white colorway fitted with Air Max Day charms to complete the look. The Nike Air Max 1 Premium “Denim” edition will see a $20 price increase compared to the normal retail price amongst the other planned releases. Rounding out this batch is the return of the “Safari” edition, which is amongst the more eye-catching of the bunch. It features a grey and white safari printed leather panel with accompanying mini Nike Swoosh on the toe cap. Lastly, two Concepts x Nike Air Max 1's sporting denim, corduroy, and fur add some flair to Nike's Air Max 1 2022 lineup.
