Tinker Hatfield’s ingenuity in creating a visible Air unit helped spawn the Air Max series, beginning with the Air Max 1. Even with innovations like the DN8 and the 3D-printed Air Max 1000, sneakerheads and the public still love the original Air Max model. Nike is bringing Cacao Wow shades to the silhouette for its latest makeover.
Switching up the traditional material makeup, the silhouette comes primarily in smooth leather with suede details present on the black mudguard. Bronze-shaded smooth leather appears on the toebox and collar, while the leather vamp takes on a cacao wow shade that matches the nearby laces. Textured leather in a similar brown hue appears on the midfoot panel and heel overlay. Along the tongue, we see canvas material take on the same color scheme as the smooth leather toe, while the tongue tag features a red woven label with white Nike text accenting. Final details on the upper include the black suede Swoosh on the midfoot and the white Nike Air logo embroidered onto the heel tab. Down below, the Air Max 1 contains its typical midsole in white with a visible Air unit in the heel paired with a red, black, and white rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 Cacao Wow W will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is $140.
