The Nike Air Max 1 is one of the most beloved sneakers ever. The Tinker Hatfield-design sneaker birthed visible Air, changed the game in the late 80s, and started a footwear revolution. As the AM 1 celebrated its 35th Anniversary in 2022, the silhouette has been a staple for Nike, releasing various colorways throughout the years. As we look ahead to 2024, the Nike Air Max 1 is set to have another big year full of must-have releases. One pair in particular is the Olympic edition, dropping in June 2024.
The Nike Air Max 1 Olympic is dropping to coincide with the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. This pair comes in an obsidian, metallic gold, white, light smoke grey, and university red colorway. Featuring OG-style colorblocking, white mesh underlays are paired with grey suede overlays. More suede is found on the obsidian-colored mudguard.
Minor hits of red can be seen on the top plastic eyelets and the branding on the tongue tag, back heel, and insoles. More obsidian splits the Nike Air branding via the Swoosh logo. The star of the show is the metallic gold Swoosh on the sides, adding elegance to this classic colorway. The visible Max Air unit in the heel also comes in metallic gold. A clean, white midsole sits atop a solid rubber outsole to complete the look.
The Nike Air Max 1 Olympic will release on June 17, 2024, through Nike, SNKRS, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150. Keep up with the latest sneaker releases, raffles, and news by downloading the Sole Retriever mobile app.
