From the Jordan 4 "Military Black" to the infamous "Panda" Dunk, it's not hard to notice that some of the most popular releases in the sneaker world come in simple, easy-to-wear color palettes. Though not taking on a white and black makeup, the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 "Sail Ironstone" does appear to be one of the cleanest colorways of the original Air Max model we’ve seen this year.
Dressed in a combo of mesh and suede across the upper, accenting hits of earth tone browns pop off the neutral tones seen throughout. Surrounding the white mesh toebox and collar are various panels of grey suede with tonal stitching details. More hits of white come via the cotton laces, working their way up to the tongue tag that gets a redesign, featuring text denoting the Air Max technology atop the typical Nike Air logo. Accenting these neutral shades are brown hits found on the mini-Swoosh embroidered on the mudguard, the larger Swoosh along the midfoot, and the two uppermost plastic eyestays. Back on the heel, the Nike Air branding also comes in this earth tone shade while sitting atop the grey suede heel tab. Underfoot, a sail-colored AM 1 midsole with a visible Air Unit in the heel is paired with a tan rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 Sail Ironstone is slated to release this Holiday season through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
