The Air Max 1 is just one of those models that we could never get sick of. Created by Tinker Hatfield and introduced back in 1987, its design has pretty much remained unchanged since. To celebrate its 35th birthday, the Beaverton footwear company has announced the Nike Air Max 1 Ugly Duckling Pecan - and here’s everything that you need to know.
According to the rumors, this AM 1 will drop alongside the “Kumquat” and will act as the sequel to 2001’s iconic Nike Dunk Low “Ugly Duckling” Pack. While its palette doesn’t resemble any of the releases in the Japan-exclusive collection, its all-suede construction is no doubt inspired by it. With a “Baroque Brown” base, “Pecan” panels adorn the lacing system, while “Yellow Ochre” adds further contrast to the Nike Swoosh and laces. Tonal “Limestone” paints the mudguard and sockliner, and all of this sits on top of a crisp white Air midsole. To round it all off, the Air Max 1 is decorated with an embroidered duck graphic around the back, finalizing the design.
The Nike Air Max 1 Ugly Duck Pecan Yellow Ochre Baroque Brown is set to fly in December 2022 in men’s sizes. Expected to drop via Nike, the SNKRS app, and select online and in-store retailers for $160, make sure you connect with us on Twitter and download our Mobile app for your best chance to secure your size!
