The Air Max 90, a staple in the sneaker community since its debut in 1990, has been reimagined with a modern twist by adding a platform sole akin to the Jordan 1 Elevate. Nike is set to release a special edition of the Air Max 90 Elevate to celebrate Valentine’s Day, following the model's debut in colorways like the Sail Light Orewood Brown.
The upper of the Air Max 90 Elevate Valentine's Day is crafted from a combination of tumbled leather and mesh, presented in a palette of cream and white. This neutral base is accented by vibrant red suede on the Swoosh, adding a pop of color that symbolizes love and passion. The sneaker also features an array of pink hues, seen in the heart-shaped lace dubrae, the TPU detailing on the eyestays and midfoot, and the leather heel tab. These pink elements bring a soft, romantic vibe to the design.
One of the most charming details of this Air Max 90 Elevate is the cherry heart graphic on the tongue, accompanied by Nike branding. This element ties in with other Valentine's Day-themed releases from Nike, such as this year’s Nike Cortez and an Air Force 1 Low from the previous year. The platform sole of the sneaker incorporates two Air units in the heel for added comfort and height and comes completed by a pink rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 90 Elevate Valentine's Day W will release on February 2, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
