2022 has been a significant year for golf with the LIV Golf series popping up and snatching some of the PGA’s greats such as Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, and many more. Though the game itself is experiencing these changes, Nike is continuing to provide amateurs and pros alike with slick footwear to wear on the course, such as the upcoming Nike Air Max 90 Golf "Lobster."
Staying true to the OG icon with updates for golf-ready wear, the AM90 receives a few material changes to keep your feet and shoes free from a grass-covered course. A pure white mesh dresses the majority of the upper with a thin fused overlay atop all of it to make the sneaker water-resistant. Classic plastic eyestays house a set of white cotton laces, working up to the Nike Air Max Golf branding in blue atop the tongue. Included on the eyestays will be a hangtag with a cartoon depiction of a lobster, tying in the name of this colorway. Working back towards the midfoot, a blue fused overlay creates the Nike Swoosh, tucked slightly beneath another fused overlay, this time in red, that runs from heel to toe. Housed within the red is Air Max branding atop a white plastic overlay. Back on the heel, a two-tone red and white pull tab is connected to the red heel tab and its white Nike Air text. Underfoot sits a white foam midsole housing a Max Air unit in the heel, paired with the mint green rubber outsole that receives a course-ready traction pattern.
The Nike Air Max 90 Golf Lobster is slated to release in 2022 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
