There's no doubting the fact that the Air Max 90 is one of Nike's most popular silhouettes. Created by legendary footwear designer Tinker Hatfield, when it debuted in 1990, it effectively became the Beaverton-based brand's second flagship sneaker after the Air Max 1. Even though the model itself is well over three decades old, its overall aesthetic hasn't really changed one bit, and to pay homage to its iconic status, the Swoosh has taken the wraps off the aptly-named Nike Air Max 90 "Icons."
The latest sneaker to debut as part of this collection, this AM90 works on top of a photon dust mesh base and is overlaid by metallic silver leather panels across the laterals and medials. Fiery university red accents make their way to the tongue tag and heel badge, as well as the Swoosh that shoots through the sidewalls in supple suede. All of this sits on top of a crisp Max Air midsole that's as comfortable as it gets, and it's finished off with a rubber outsole that ties all of the shoe's colors together.
The Nike Air Max 90 Icons is set to release sometime in Summer 2023 and will drop in men's sizes with a retail price of $130.
