Nike’s Air Max series sees a yearly evolution with new models and updates to classics. For 2024, the Air Max Plus, initially designed by Sean McDowell in 1997 and released the following year, is getting an update in the form of the Air Max Plus Drift. Following looks at the Phantom Cacao Wow colorway, we have an official look at another launch colorway of the model with the Black Bright Crimson rendition.
The Air Max Plus Drift Black Bright Crimson features an upper with a mesmerizing gradient mesh base that transitions from purple at the toe to red on the midfoot and then to orange and yellow towards the collar, encapsulating a vivid sunset. Black wavy TPU overlays, now more pronounced in this Drift edition, trace the contours of the design, with red accents highlighting the lines. Nike preserves the essence of the original Air Max Plus by including Tuned Air logos on the insole and the explicit "Tuned Air" branding on the black heel tab, paying homage to the sneaker's rich legacy.
Swoosh branding finds a new home at the heel of the shoe, presented in red on the lateral side and black on the medial, offering a subtle branding twist. Below is a sleek black midsole, equipped with Tuned Air units in the forefoot and heel, ensuring the legendary comfort and support synonymous with the Air Max Plus. A black and multi-color rubber outsole provides the finishing touch, ensuring durability and traction.
The Nike Air Max Plus Drift Black Bright Crimson will release on February 15, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $185. Stay updated on this release and more by downloading the Sole Retriever mobile app.
