Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, you'd know that 2023 is going to be massive for the Air Max Plus silhouette. Introduced all the way back in 1998, this year marks the Sean McDowell-designed model's 25th birthday. To celebrate this momentous milestone, Nike has been taking the wraps off a vast range of special edition colorways. After checking out the "Mercurial XXV" and the "Quadruple Swoosh" earlier this season, as well as the A-COLD-WALL* collab that's rumored to be on the way, we're now taking our first look at the Nike Air Max Plus "Icons."
Boasting an engineered mesh base that fades from deep royal blue to white, this Air Max Plus is overlaid by a glossy palm tree-inspired cage that wraps around the entire upper. Matte black leather mudguards adorn the lateral and medial sidewalls, and underfoot, you'll find an extra chunky TN Air Max midsole that's as comfortable as it gets. As if this colorway wasn't eye-catching enough already, the Beaverton sportswear company has added scream green accents across the tongue, lacing system, and Swoosh for a look that is sure to turn heads wherever you go. It's then finished off with 3M accents throughout so you can flex even in low light conditions.
The Nike Air Max Plus Icons will release in men's sizes sometime in Summer 2023 via Nike and select retailers online and in-store, with retail set at $175. More special colorways are expected to be announced very soon, so make sure you follow our Twitter and download our official Mobile App to find out everything that you need to know!
