When they brought back the Air Max Sunder, Nike revived a cult classic Air Max silhouette earlier this year. After launching the model in a slew of vibrant colors and prepping a Doernbecher rendition for a release this December, Nike has prepped an exclusive colorway that will only launch via Nordic retailers.
Dubbed Obscura, the colorway of this Air Max Sunder is inspired by the darkness of winter experienced in the Nordic region. The upper swaps out the traditional stretchy neoprene upper for a durable textile fabric in a snowy white shade, matching the hue found on the leather mudguard and its various TPU panels that come with a reflective finish inspired by Nordic solar particles. Stark black shades take over multiple parts of the silhouette, including the zipper shroud, Swoosh logos, heel tab, and pull tabs. The insole has a fiery orange finish with white Nike Air branding. Finishing the design and tying together the chilly Nordic winter night-inspired color scheme is the black foam midsole with Air units in the heel and forefoot paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max Sunder Obscura W will release on November 22, 2024, through select retailers in the Nordic region. So far, SNS and NakedCPH have posted release info for the pair, but expect others to follow shortly. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is $190.
